Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the Highliner Plaza Hotel & Conference Centre in Prince Rupert, I had the opportunity to experience both the ambiance and culinary offerings of First Avenue Bistro, conveniently located within the hotel. As a travel writer and wellness enthusiast, I prioritize both comfort and quality, and I was pleased to find that the renovations have enhanced the room experience significantly. Though I had to leave early each morning, I made it a point to savor the breakfast on my final day. The variety was commendable, with traditional options and local flavors, though consistency varied—some items were notably more satisfying than others. The atmosphere at First Avenue Bistro is inviting and reflects the local culture, creating a cozy environment for relaxation. As I strolled through the historic city surrounding the hotel, I discovered various other dining establishments nearby, such as Naomi's Grill and Mama's Restaurant, tempting me back for another visit in the future. If you seek a blend of culinary exploration and a serene retreat, this destination may offer just what you’re looking for—though I recommend checking the status of the gym facilities, as they were under renovation during my visit.
